The Merc is reporting on the other half of the Town and Country property today. The Planning Commission unanimously approved a proposal from Carmel Partners for a mixed-use development on the property bounded by Plaza del Sol, Olson Way, Frances, and the post office, to be completed in the next two years.
That’s pretty much it for plans for the downtown. A couple of Downtown blocks are still TBD by the developer, and there could be a major hotel, more retail, parking, or something else in them. The primary TBD block is the Macy’s parking lot at Washington and Sunnyvale. I believe another one along Mathilda is also still TBD (and I’d love to see a new city hall there, but I think the ship has sailed on that option).
